No one likes to answer the calls of a debt collector. They always seem to want to put the fear of God in you or make you think that if you don’t pay your bill; you are going straight to jail. Alas there is a federal law that says you can stop debt collectors from bothering you. This can be done by simply telling them to desist from calling your house.  It goes for if they are calling you on your cell phone. The law says that they must respect that. And if they do not, then you can press charges against them.
