Goodbye Rosie

Posted in Television, Rants on March 29th, 2007

Sometimes comedian and talk show host Rosie O’Donnell announced that she would be leaving “The View” in June after one year on the air. During that year, Rosie managed to step on the toes of many, the most confrontational being with Donald Trump.

Apart from bashing everyone, Rosie also used the show to further publicize
her gay lifestyle. So long Rosie. You won’t be missed!

Food Network Awards Show?

Posted in Food, Television on March 21st, 2007

Some awards shows are not meant to be. If you thought that the TV Land Awards show was bad, then you haven’t seen the Food Network’s poor excuse for a red carpet gala affair.

The categories were uninteresting and the Food Network’s cooks as hosts were so boring that you couldn’t help but wish they were stirring a pot rather than standing in front of a mic. Food Network took a chance on Awards and failed miserably.

Clearing Clutter In Time For The Holidays

Posted in Holidays, Rants on March 14th, 2007

It starts out with one catalog that you have received in the mail, then another the next day and before you know it, you have a cabinet filled with a clutter of catalogs that you don’t need. You will never get a chance to read it but you still keep it in the house anyway. The holidays are a good time to devote to clearing the clutter from your home. Experts have advised that in the case of the catalog / magazines situation, you should go through those that you would have interest and dump the rest. You may even want to consider recycling the magazines. And if all fails, your physician can always use some extra magazines in his office lobby.

How Much is Too Much Time Online?

Posted in Rants on March 9th, 2007

A recent article on MSN asked the question “if a man spends too much time talking to a woman online if he’s committing a virtual affair.” I would equate a virtual affair to a physical affair on the morality scale since no man should have to spend so much time online talking to another female when his wife is in the house. It shows total disrespect and a man should know when to log off and slip back to reality. Clearly a man spending a lot of time online is one with domestic problems. How do you know if your man values his online friends more than his mate? When he answers your emails frequently each day and makes comments to his friends about his wife or significant other not wanting him online.

Enough With The Cliched TV Ads

Posted in Television, Rants on March 5th, 2007

It seems that advertising copywriters are stuck in a creative rut since all the ads that we see on TV today are all recycled. How many Uncle Earls and Johnson’s in an office setting can we bare on those ads? Not to mention the words I’ve heard the words “we can do it, you can help”, on two separate ads and “X company has a X for that” is quite a popular phrase with Visine and Sylvan Tuition.

Even “changing the world one X at a time” are pretty much overused to its limit and I’ve just about had enough of “many will enter, few will win”.  Some freshly written ads please.  The audience is watching.

Save Money, Represent Yourself In Divorce Court

Posted in Society, Finance on March 2nd, 2007

Self-petitioning in a divorce may not be such a bad thing after all. Most are intimated to represent themselves in a divorce especially when their opponent has professional legal representation. Not only does self petition save you a lot of money, but your true emotions over a delicate situation in the case like say child custody may be just what is needed to sway the judge’s decision.
