All You Can Eat Restaurants Supporting Obesity?

Posted in Health, Medical, Food, Society, Rants on May 27th, 2007

Is it just me or are all-you-can-eat days at the restaurants supporting obesity. If you go into these restaurants on any given day when the offer is on, it isn’t unusual to see a more obese crowd dining with their families. Personally I think that this is just wrong. And even if they are going to encourage the heavier set to stop on by to take advantage of their “food for less” deals, at least they should make sure that the food is healthy.

Craigslist or eBay?

Posted in Shopping, Finance, Websites, Rants on May 24th, 2007

One can never get enough of Craigslist.org.  A website, which allows buyer and seller to meet, trade and sell, craigslist.org keeps growing in popularity. You can place your ads and pictures for free in the state listing and also find apartments to rent houses to purchase and even seek out a love interest.

If I had to choose between Craigslist.org and eBay, it would be Craigslist all the way. After all, you can list with them for free and the money you make on a sale is all yours. I couldn’t think of a better way of eliminating the middleman.

Cheaters - Friend or Foe

Posted in Television, Rants on May 18th, 2007

I wonder about that television show “Cheaters”. For those who have never seen it, the show exposes cheating lovers or spouses with the help of private investigators from the show. And then as camera rolls when infidelity is revealed the hurt mate would get the opportunity to confront the cheater in the act. It’s interesting because the way the whole thing is set up is to make the cheating person look bad. Unfortunately the only one going through the public humiliation is the jilted lover who hired the TV crew in the first place.

What to Give Mom on Her Day

Posted in Shopping, Holidays on May 12th, 2007

As Mother’s Day approaches, most are faced with the daunting task of what to get that special mother or mother figure in their lives. After combing the stores at the malls, it’s easy to return home with absolutely nothing to give Mother on her day. After all no one wants to repeat gifts and it’s especially hard when shopping for the woman who has everything. Gift certificates are always a good choice since it gives the person receiving it the option to purchase what they want or need. You can always do something as simple yet effective as cooking mom her favorite meal and having a picnic at the park. She’ll love you for it.

Giving Reality TV A Bad Name

Posted in Technology, Rants on May 5th, 2007

Reality TV was good for a while. People would rather see what people do in real life, unscripted rather than turn the channel to something that isn’t. But is reality TV going too far. I think it is. The fight between two students from different cultures on Bet’s “College Hill Season Four” was enough for producers to stop rolling tape. And if that’s not bad enough rapper Flavor of Love Girls at Charm School set out to put some class into the women from Flava Flav’s reality show but failed miserably. No one wants to turn on their TV to see some woman’s dirty panties hung up on a picture just to humiliate her, which was the feature of one episode. Just makes for bad TV.

Goes to show the lengths producers will go to make a hit show. Sorry, I’m not impressed.

Immigration Do-Over

Posted in Political, WTF on May 3rd, 2007

Immigration filing do-over is likely to cause both stress and financial concern for those applying for green cards.
Those filing immigration paperwork are supposed to get it done in a particular order if they are not sent together in a package. The penalty putting your employment authorization form before your adjustment status application could result in a do-over. This means that the initial money that you put out would not be refunded.
