Don’t Forget About Black Friday

Posted in Tips, Gift Ideas, Shopping on November 21st, 2007

With new ads coming out, many people are heading out to stores for these “3 day only sales” that are right before black Friday. Some people don’t really like the thought of standing in like for 12 hours strait just so they can save $50 bucks. I am with you. I will never stand in line and fight with people just to save a few bucks. Maybe if there was a 60 inch LCD television on sale for $400 or something I would be out there in the cold for 12 hours, but just to save $20 to $50 dollars, no way. There are plenty of other good black Friday sales other than the ones people stand in line for 12 hours to get. Many stores will have lots of DVDs and other small items for great prices. Do yourself a favor and don’t go out and buy everything just yet.

Buy Greeting Cards and Support Soldiers’ Angels

Posted in Gift Ideas, Society, Holidays, Website Reviews on November 20th, 2007

I know that I’m not alone in feeling like the quality of greeting cards has decreased. You just don’t see the beauty and quality in them like you used to see. I was looking around online trying to find a place to order greeting cards in bulk without having to sacrifice quality and I came across GalleryCollection.com. They have a huge selection of cards for every occasion. From birthdays to holiday cards corporate cards and more, they have just about anything you could want and their prices are pretty reasonable as well, considering the quality of their products.

They have recently done a great public service and provided holiday cards for Soldiers’ Angels (www.SoldiersAngels.org). If you don’t know what Soldiers’ Angels is, they provide cards and gifts to soldiers who are fighting for America. They accept donations from everyone and it really does make a huge difference in the lives and moral of our troops. Some of them never receive mail from home.

What’s Up With The Weather?

Posted in Random Thoughts, Holidays, WTF on November 18th, 2007

The weather has been a bit odd as of late. Thanksgiving is only a few days away and it’s almost 75 degrees outside. It’s supposed to snow tomorrow, which makes it even more odd. I can’t really complain about it. Nobody likes freezing weather. I just think it’s weird is all. Maybe Al Gore was right. I hope it starts getting a little colder by mid December. Who wants a 70 degree Christmas? Not me.

New Samsonite Luggage

Posted in Shopping, Website Reviews on November 17th, 2007

They held a little contest at my girlfriend’s office on Tuesday and she won a free set of Samsonite luggage. We purchased new luggage a couple of months ago but this is much nicer than the luggage we picked up. My girlfriend is going to try and return the luggage we previously purchased, since we have never used it and it all still has the original store tags on it.

Free Checking Account from WaMu

Posted in Finance, Website Reviews on November 17th, 2007

I’ve been thinking about signing up for a free checking account from WaMu for a while. I always see their commercials on TV and they really seem to be a great choice. They have lots of features, like free ATM withdrawals, free checks, gold debit MasterCard, one overdraft/non-sufficient Funds fee refund per year, fee-free outgoing wire transfers and they only require one dollar to open an account. I think I’m going to try it and see how I like it.

Sober by Christmas

Posted in Health, Society, Holidays, Website Reviews on November 15th, 2007

My girlfriend’s brother is going to check himself into alcohol rehab this weekend. He finally made a choice to clean up his life and he really wants to try and be sober by Christmas. Last Christmas he ended up getting drunk and falling into the Christmas tree and nearly ruined everyones day. He doesn’t even remember doing it. Luckily we got it all on video to show him. I really wish him luck and hope he can clean his life up.

New Modern Furniture

Posted in Home Improvement, Shopping, Website Reviews on November 15th, 2007

A friend of mine recently purchased some new modern furniture for his family room and it really looks great. He ordered the Beige Orange Leather Sofa Loveseat Chair Living Room Set from ModernLineFurniture.com and he is very happy with it. The quality is great and it looks excellent. The set even came with two free ottomans, worth over $250.00. If I decide to splurge and pick up some new furniture I will probably get something similar to what he got.

Posted in Gift Ideas, Shopping, Website Reviews, Technology on November 14th, 2007

I was looking through some of the black Friday ads that leaked and i noticed that Target will have a 500gb Western Digital external hard drive for only $87.00. Thats a great price. I think I will probably pick up a couple of them. I’m always using my external hard drive at work and I’ve been wanting one for my home office, so I think this will be the perfect time and price to pick a couple up.

Save Time During Winter and Use Car Covers

Posted in Tips, Gift Ideas, Website Reviews on November 12th, 2007

I’ve been looking at car covers lately. Winter is here and I really hate having to scrape and clear all of the snow and ice off of my car and windows every morning. A friend of mine started using a car cover last winter and It really worked. He wasn’t out there for 30 minutes every morning like I was trying to clear everything off. The ice especially is a pain. Sometimes it gets so thick you can’t even scrape it until you spray de-icer on it and let it sit for 10 minutes. I really don’t feel like dealing with all of that for another winter.
