Sony Are Some Cheap Bastards

Posted in Gift Ideas, Video Games, Rants on March 24th, 2008

A friend of mine recently purchased an 80gb Sony Playstation 3. He has a nice big plasma TV in his living room and thought that the PS3 would look incredible on it. After buying the PS3 and getting it home, he realized that it doesn’t even come with HDMI cables. He paid nearly $700 for this thing and it doesn’t even come with the cables needed for high definition. Something else that I didn’t care for, was that it still only comes with one controller. You would think that when you’re buying the most expensive version they would include proper cables and an extra controller.

I Need My Closed Captioning

Posted in Random Thoughts, Television, Website Reviews, Rants on October 18th, 2007

A while back I was laying in bed watching television and the closed captioning stopped working on my television set. Im a weirdo and I like to have the closed captioning on while I watch tv sometimes. I guess it’s cause sometimes you cant understand a word here or there so it’s nice to have the words printed right there in case u need to know what they said.

Microsoft Word 2007

Posted in Software, Rants on October 4th, 2007

They recently upgraded all of the computers at my company to Microsoft Office Word 2007. I opened the program expecting it to be similar to the previous version of Word that we were using. It is completely different. The GUI is nothing like the versions before it. It looks kind of nice but it’s going to take some getting used to, that’s for sure. I was fine with the old version. Now I have to learn where everything is all over again. Super.

Poor Britney (sarcasm)

Posted in Society, Celebrities, WTF, Rants on October 4th, 2007

So Britney Spears recently lost custody of her kids to her ex-husband Kevin “K-Fed” Federline. Britney Spears was given plenty of opportunities to clean up her act, but instead of staying home a few nights a week with her kids, she had to go out clubbing and drinking, and driving without a license and who knows what else. If she were anyone else, a regular person and not a celebrity, she would have had her kids taken away a long time ago, and probably had some charges on her from child protective services. Hopefully Kevin Federline takes the responsibility more serious than Britney did.

Do The Spam Emails Ever Stop?

Posted in WTF, Rants on October 3rd, 2007

I recently went through and cleaned out the spam folder of my email. The next day there was already nearly 1,000 new spam emails. That is pretty ridiculous. I have only used that specific email address on a couple different websites so I know one of them sells lists of email addresses. Half the time I can’t even tell if an email is spam anymore. And don’t even get me started on the fake eBay and Paypal emails.  Some of them actually look real. Good thing I’m smart enough to look at the address before entering any information.

I Need a New Alarm Clock

Posted in Random Thoughts, Gift Ideas, Rants on September 13th, 2007

I woke up late today. Again. This has got to stop! My alarm clock has failed to wake me up about a dozen times within the past couple of months. If I wasnt such a light sleeper I would probably be fired from my job by now. Just about any noise will wake me up and luckily a neighbor of mine has a very loud truck. He goes to work about 30 minutes before I do, so the timing is perfect every time I oversleep due to my dying alarm clock.

We Need New Conference Tables

Posted in Website Reviews, Rants on August 21st, 2007

I think that I’m going to talk to the other managers in my office and recommend that we buy some new conference tables. The ones we use are pretty old and I’m sure they dont really look too impressive when we’re talking to new potential clients. The finish is kind of worn on them so they dont really shine like they used to.

Need A Loan?

Posted in Society, Finance, Websites, Website Reviews, Rants on June 15th, 2007

In todays society, it is an acceptable thing to be up to your neck in debt. How did we get to be this way? With credit cards and high interest loans, people don’t really have a chance to get out of debt until theyre too old to enjoy that new home, and by the time that new car is paid off, it isn’t worth much more than the first few payments you made on it.

Many people don’t do the proper research about loans and debt before going out and applying for them. Check out UKPersonalLoanStore.co.uk if you would like to read some useful information regarding loans, secured loans, home improvement loans, remortgages and more. They have alot of valuable information about loans and debt.

All You Can Eat Restaurants Supporting Obesity?

Posted in Health, Medical, Food, Society, Rants on May 27th, 2007

Is it just me or are all-you-can-eat days at the restaurants supporting obesity. If you go into these restaurants on any given day when the offer is on, it isn’t unusual to see a more obese crowd dining with their families. Personally I think that this is just wrong. And even if they are going to encourage the heavier set to stop on by to take advantage of their “food for less” deals, at least they should make sure that the food is healthy.

Craigslist or eBay?

Posted in Shopping, Finance, Websites, Rants on May 24th, 2007

One can never get enough of Craigslist.org.  A website, which allows buyer and seller to meet, trade and sell, craigslist.org keeps growing in popularity. You can place your ads and pictures for free in the state listing and also find apartments to rent houses to purchase and even seek out a love interest.

If I had to choose between Craigslist.org and eBay, it would be Craigslist all the way. After all, you can list with them for free and the money you make on a sale is all yours. I couldn’t think of a better way of eliminating the middleman.
