RapidShare Premium Account

A friend of mine is always using RapidShare (www.RapidShare.com) to find stuff like new television episodes and music videos. I never really knew much about RapidShare other than you could download stuff using it. He was showing me some stuff at work on his “premium account” and it really seems pretty cool. You can get a RapidShare premium account for around twelve bucks a month and download just about anything you want. The only real restriction that I saw was a 25gb per-five-days limit, meaning you cant download over 5gb worth of stuff in a 5 day period. I honestly don’t think I’ve downloaded over 5gb worth of stuff since I’ve had the internet, so this seems like a really good deal for me. He said you can find all kinds of things on RapidShare, even movies and video games. I don’t really download anything like music or that kind of stuff, but I do like making custom DVD’s of music videos and such. I think I’m going to give RapidShare a try for a month and see how I like it.

Don’t Forget About Black Friday

Posted in Tips, Gift Ideas, Shopping on November 21st, 2007

With new ads coming out, many people are heading out to stores for these “3 day only sales” that are right before black Friday. Some people don’t really like the thought of standing in like for 12 hours strait just so they can save $50 bucks. I am with you. I will never stand in line and fight with people just to save a few bucks. Maybe if there was a 60 inch LCD television on sale for $400 or something I would be out there in the cold for 12 hours, but just to save $20 to $50 dollars, no way. There are plenty of other good black Friday sales other than the ones people stand in line for 12 hours to get. Many stores will have lots of DVDs and other small items for great prices. Do yourself a favor and don’t go out and buy everything just yet.

Save Time During Winter and Use Car Covers

Posted in Tips, Gift Ideas, Website Reviews on November 12th, 2007

I’ve been looking at car covers lately. Winter is here and I really hate having to scrape and clear all of the snow and ice off of my car and windows every morning. A friend of mine started using a car cover last winter and It really worked. He wasn’t out there for 30 minutes every morning like I was trying to clear everything off. The ice especially is a pain. Sometimes it gets so thick you can’t even scrape it until you spray de-icer on it and let it sit for 10 minutes. I really don’t feel like dealing with all of that for another winter.

Lithium Batteries For Cameras

Posted in Tips, Gift Ideas, Website Reviews on November 9th, 2007

If you own a video camera, you know how frustrating it is if you only have the one standard battery that comes with it. It goes dead way before the tape runs out and it takes an hour to charge back up. The same goes for digital cameras. If you try and use normal batteries, they die after only a few photos. I picked up a new lithium battery for my Nikon D100 digital camera a while back and I could not be happier with it.

This weekend I’m going to be helping a friend of mine replace his Mustang exhaust system. He purchased all of the parts for it about 2 months ago and hasent had the time or help to put it on. I offered to help him and his face lit up like a kid in a candy store. Hopefully we can get everything working without messing anything up in the process.

Candles and Tablecloths Don’t Mix

Posted in Tips, Random Thoughts, Food, Website Reviews on October 12th, 2007

A while back we had some friends over for a little cookout and we had several bug repelling candles on the table to keep bugs away from the food. Before we knew it someone had somehow bunched up the tablecloth so that it was directly over the flame. Someone asked if the food was burning and we looked over towards the table and saw the tablecloth on fire. I guess candles and tablecloths don’t mix.

Women of color who are over the age of 41 are advised to stay away from reds and blond colors unless their hair is untouched (no chemicals) and short. So says a top hair stylist in a recent article. She also said that these women can add highlights such as spice and chestnuts for those with warm to dark complexion.
