Raising My Insurance Rates, I Don’t Think So!

Posted in Finance, Website Reviews, WTF on January 26th, 2008

My insurance company tried to raise my life insurance rates on me a while back. It took about a month to get everything straightened out. I can’t stand when big companies try and do stuff like that to the little guys. They didn’t try and raise my insurance rate by a big ammount or anything, but it’s the principle of it. When I signed up I was promised that the rate would never increase.

What’s With All of The Popups?!

Posted in Internet, Website Reviews, WTF on January 26th, 2008

Lately my popup blocker has been going crazy on just about every website that I go to. I don’t know if every website on the internet just started using popups all of a sudden or if I might have a virus or a trojan or something. I really wish I knew what was going on. I’m thinking about buying some new anti-virus software to try and fix the problem.

What’s Up With The Weather?

Posted in Random Thoughts, Holidays, WTF on November 18th, 2007

The weather has been a bit odd as of late. Thanksgiving is only a few days away and it’s almost 75 degrees outside. It’s supposed to snow tomorrow, which makes it even more odd. I can’t really complain about it. Nobody likes freezing weather. I just think it’s weird is all. Maybe Al Gore was right. I hope it starts getting a little colder by mid December. Who wants a 70 degree Christmas? Not me.

Jaeger LeCoultre Watch

Posted in Random Thoughts, Gift Ideas, Website Reviews, WTF on October 27th, 2007

My girlfriend’s best friend won a brand new Jaeger LeCoultre watch last month at a big charity raffle. The raffle tickets were twenty bucks each and she purchased 5 of them. For her one hundred dollar investment, she won a watch that’s worth close to ten thousand dollars. There were a few hundred people at the raffle and lots of different companies donated items to be raffled off. A few people won brand new big screen plasma televisions. I kind of wish I would have went.

They’ve All Been To Drug Rehab

Posted in Random Thoughts, Health, Society, Website Reviews, WTF on October 25th, 2007

I recently went to my 10 year high school reunion. It was so surprising how many people have been in and out of drug rehab. Some of the people you would have never expected to ever do drugs or anything have been in and out of drug and alcohol rehab for years. Even one of my best friends from school had been to rehab once.

Poor Britney (sarcasm)

Posted in Society, Celebrities, WTF, Rants on October 4th, 2007

So Britney Spears recently lost custody of her kids to her ex-husband Kevin “K-Fed” Federline. Britney Spears was given plenty of opportunities to clean up her act, but instead of staying home a few nights a week with her kids, she had to go out clubbing and drinking, and driving without a license and who knows what else. If she were anyone else, a regular person and not a celebrity, she would have had her kids taken away a long time ago, and probably had some charges on her from child protective services. Hopefully Kevin Federline takes the responsibility more serious than Britney did.

Do The Spam Emails Ever Stop?

Posted in WTF, Rants on October 3rd, 2007

I recently went through and cleaned out the spam folder of my email. The next day there was already nearly 1,000 new spam emails. That is pretty ridiculous. I have only used that specific email address on a couple different websites so I know one of them sells lists of email addresses. Half the time I can’t even tell if an email is spam anymore. And don’t even get me started on the fake eBay and Paypal emails.  Some of them actually look real. Good thing I’m smart enough to look at the address before entering any information.

Immigration Do-Over

Posted in Political, WTF on May 3rd, 2007

Immigration filing do-over is likely to cause both stress and financial concern for those applying for green cards.
Those filing immigration paperwork are supposed to get it done in a particular order if they are not sent together in a package. The penalty putting your employment authorization form before your adjustment status application could result in a do-over. This means that the initial money that you put out would not be refunded.

What Is It With So-Called “Dollar Stores”

Posted in WTF, Odd News, Rants on February 8th, 2007

They call them “Dollar Stores” but the prices one will pay for the majority of items in store turns out to be more than four quarters worth. Why are people so fascinated with shopping at these stores? It can’t be the prices because they are just as competitive as other superstores such as Wal-Mart.

It is definitely not the quality of products because some of the products I’ve seen on the shelf are inferior and in bad condition. Believe me I’ve wiped a few dusts from off items at these stores more than once.

Clearly dollar stores are winning people over with location since they are located practically everywhere within a neighborhood.

The High Price of Beauty

Posted in WTF, Rants on February 2nd, 2007

How much would a woman spend on beauty these days? The answer is a lot. For the African American woman, silk panel weaves are the talk of the town. Just ask Tyra, Oprah and Beyonce, wearers of these hair pieces. This new type of weave that everyone is talking about leans more on the wig style of design and eliminates the traditional sewing method of attaching hair to the head.

What also sets this weave apart from its counterparts is that it boasts of
having a silk panel front, that is equipped with hair parts and baby hair to
create a nature look.  At a price of $600 and up, it’s no wonder that
celebrities mostly wear the hair.
